Geoff Branda joined Westlake in May 1999. He currently serves as
Senior Vice President of Risk Management & IT. His dual roles
are similar in that they both provide services critical to internal operation.
“On the Business Strategy & Analytics side, we are providing
detailed analysis of information and financial data that will allow
different departments to make sound business decisions,”
Mr. Branda explains. “On the Information Technology side,
we are providing departments the software applications
and hardware tools necessary to execute their business
decisions.”
After receiving his bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1989
(Mathematics & Applied Science/Operations Management),
Mr. Branda joined the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand
(now Price Waterhouse Coopers) and became a Senior
Auditor from 1989-1991. He later returned to UCLA and
received his MBA in 1996.
Mr. Branda has had various roles during his time with
Westlake, including Controller, CFO, Director of
Risk Management, and Director of Systems Integration.
“All of these roles have helped me gain the breadth of knowledge and experience necessary to be successful in my current position,” Mr. Branda says. “I’ve learned to recognize how a change in one system has a ripple effect on the entire workflow. Knowing this helps my department provide better service to our customers, which in this case, are internal employees.”
