Daniel Paul

Daniel Paul joined Westlake Financial in 2024 as the Senior Vice President of Accounting and Tax. In this role, he oversees all aspects of accounting and tax functions for Westlake and its subsidiaries, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. He is also responsible for strategically assessing new business ventures and ensuring that complex transactions are appropriately accounted for. Operationally, Daniel works to enhance processes and controls to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen financial oversight. Additionally, he leads Westlake’s tax department, collaborating with both internal teams and third-party tax providers to optimize tax strategies and ensure timely filings.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University in New Jersey and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California, New York, and Pennsylvania. His significant contributions at Westlake include standardizing financial reporting processes across loan-based businesses, preparing accounting conclusions for key areas such as Dealer Loan accounting, and assisting subsidiaries with their business operations.

Looking ahead, Daniel’s primary goals are to lead and develop the accounting team, further standardize financial reporting to enhance analysis, optimize cash management processes, and identify opportunities to simplify existing procedures for greater efficiency.
